All things Halloween!

I have been SO excited for fall and the past few days our souther California weather has finally decided to match the season! I have been busy making several fun fall things, and now finally have time to share them with you all!
I have been trying to add to my Daily 5 work word this year, and was excited when I found these adorable Halloween letters that I thought would be perfect for a word work activity! After seeing Tara’s magnetic work work activity a few months back, I had been keeping my eye out for fun letters!
These are the letters I found at Michaels in the Halloween section:
They weren’t magnetic, so I put little magnets on the back of the letters so they would stay in place on the cookie sheet. I had my kiddos spell out their spelling words with the magnetic letters. They could do this by themselves or with a partner who has the same spelling words as them. I am using Words Their Way this year and I {LOVE} it! I have been working hard the past couple days on an organizational system for all the lists, which I will hopefully be able to share soon!
Another one of my Halloweeny creations is my fall banner! I created two, this one with the sparkly green ribbon {of course!} for my classroom, and then another one with an orange ribbon for the fireplace! I have it hanging on our classroom door!
Also on our classroom door is a Halloween wreath! I have seen so many adorable wreaths on Pinterest and had been wanting to make one, but just couldn’t decide which kind I wanted to make! Then I saw Miss Nelson’s stick wreath and knew that it would be a great wreath to start out with for my first time making one!

I even found a cute witch at JoAnn’s!
And my last completed project is my countdown to Halloween! Here is my inspiration for this project… found it on Pinterest of course! Teri from A Cupcake for the Teacher also made an adorable countdown calendar for Halloween!
I LOVE K&Company’s entire Halloween line and am pretty sure I bought up almost every one of their Halloween products! (The Chip Box with the letters is by them as well!) I used their stickers and accents to cover the numbers. I just had to add a magnet to the back of them and they were ready to go!

Here’s a picture of the numbers underneath! Of course, I wanted to have it nice and neat with 5 in every row, but because I covered up the numbers after I stuck them on, I lost count after 29, and left out 28! I had to go back and add it in, so now the top row has 6 numbers and the bottom row has 4… Just in case you were wondering why I did it that way… it was not on purpose! But I am still super happy with how it turned out! And my kiddos love it as well!
I wrote an essay analyzing this book back when I was in college, which is the first time I ever heard of it! It also happens to be one of my favorite papers I ever wrote! Of course now I just use it as a fun Halloween read aloud in October! Love the pictures and rhyming, and the fun twists it takes from the original Cinderella!
Phew, and that is all for my Halloween fun!!
