Back in Session!

Oh my goodness, the last couple of weeks have been crazy with getting ready for the beginning of the school year! We started this Monday, and back to school night is tomorrow!!
I know I was planning on having my classroom pics up a while ago, but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet!! As always, too much to do and too little time!! I did have a chance to snap a couple photos though of my kiddos’ name posters and book baskets! I LOVE how their name posters turned out!! I have such an artistic class, which is wonderful because I love doing lots of fun artsy things!

Also, we are using the same book baskets from last year, but I loved Tara’s student name tags on her baskets and decided to add some to mine as well! I just bought labels from target, backed them with card stock, punched a hole, and then tied them on with some cute blue and green ribbons! Now it is super easy for my students to find their baskets!

Also, since I teach 4th grade social studies, we will be learning all about California this year! To start the year I have my students make license plates for our “road trip” all over California! I got this idea from another teacher (who also gave me a blackline of the CA license plate) and I think this is such a fun way to start off our social studies unit! We talk about license plates and how many characters they can have as well as some examples of what people put on personalized license plates.
I will be posting pictures of my entire classroom sometime… hopefully sooner rather than later!!

We started school Wednesday. I had my kids do the name plate thing. I am using them as their name tags on their desks right now. They loved making them. The 3rd grade teacher next door did it as well. Thanks for the idea!

The name posters turned out so cute! I can't wait to try that with my class this year. I'm hoping to get to that soon, but they sorta move like slugs and everything is just taking a bit longer than expected. Obviously, I still need to whip them into shape. Hehe. You classroom looks like a happy wonderful place to be.

Love following your great ideas! Is there a specific site you used for the license plate template? Thanks for your help!

  9. Autumn Stanley says:

HI! I love your room!! Such inspiration! Thanks!! The names on the top of the wall…Are those child decorated? Or printed? I can’t enlarge the photo enough to tell…but I love how they are all different! Thanks so much!
