Classroom Library Individual Book Labels!

I can’t believe that my husband and I are off to Europe today!! I have been frantically working to try to finish a couple projects before I left! Of course, I didn’t get to everything, but I am so excited to share one of the big projects with you all!
I posted about my Colorful Classroom Library Labels at the beginning of July.
Well, now I have a new addition to them!
Individual Book Labels!

It took forever, but I finally finished making individual labels to go on all of my books! This is going to be so helpful this year in keeping my classroom library organized because the kids will know exactly where the books go when they are done reading them!
I formatted the labels to fit the Avery Labels style #8160.
(You can click on the picture to find them at Amazon)
There are several labels per sheet, and you can print out as many sheets as you need for your books!
There are also blank labels that you can just add a text box and picture to if you need to make any additional labels!
After the labels were printed I just cut them in half to make two nice sized labels!

It took a lot of trial and thought, but I finally decided on placing the labels on the bottom left corner of the back of the books. That way it doesn’t cover up any of the title or the text on the back of the book!

Then I am going to have my class librarians go through and check the baskets every now and then to make sure that all the labels on the books match the basket they’re in!

I can’t wait to go into my classroom when we get back and finish setting up all my books!!

If you are interested in using these labels for your library as well I now have 2 options!

Colorful Classroom Library Labels with Individual Book Labels
or
Colorful Classroom Library Labels
(which are just the big labels for the book baskets!)

This was one of my big goals for the summer and I am so excited to have an organized classroom library this year that will be easy for my students to keep up!

I am linking up a couple days late with Tara!!

  1. How exciting to get a big project like that checked off your list. Enjoy your trip!

  2. Love your book labels! They are absolutely adorable! If I hadn't just redone my library last year, I'd snap these up in a heartbeat! they are much more festive than my labels!

  3. Have a great vacations. Your book labels look great – what a huge job, but it will be worth it when your library stays organized all year long!

  4. Shannon says:

YAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!! SO excited for these-I've been waiting (impatiently 馃槈 ) for them. Enjoy Europe–you've certainly earned it!

  5. MJ says:

Great job!! My classroom library is one area I definitely want to tackle, but I'm thinking it won't happen until either Spring Break or next summer. Where'd you get your library baskets?

  6. Sandy says:

I LOVE these labels!!!!!!! Love them!!! Have so much fun on your trip to Europe! Can't wait to hear about it when you get back!!! PS- I love your new blog look! 馃檪

  7. Do you level your books also? If so, how?
I was/am leveling all of my books with Accelerated Reader, but the kids do not know AR at the school I am now at and the school does not use it. They are into Lexile levels and DRA levels. Unfortunately, the kids do not see these levels anywhere else except their guided reading group. It is nowhere in the school, which is quite frustrating…

  8. Raye says:

Have a safe trip! Love the library labels!

  9. These look great! I also LOVE the new blog design! Very cute! 馃檪

  11. Joyce Seely says:

I labeled books two years ago when I taught second grade, based on their reading level. It was so much work, and a little bit of a guessing game. Your labels are great, I love your products! But I think I will still wait to redo them.

  12. Tara says:

Ok….between being out of town and overwhelmed with starting back next week and not able to get into my classroom, I somehow missed your blog makeover!!! When did that happen???? Looks awesome! Those labels…..Oh My Word….can I tell you how wonderful they are?! Awesome!!! Thanks for linking up:)

Your labels are amazing! Wow!! I'm going to implement them for my classroom library.

  14. Katie says:

Is there any way you can sell the blank sticker labels separately from your package on TpT? I already have my classroom bin labels but want to do the stickers on the back of the books. 馃檪 Thanks!

  15. Erin says:

Thank you for showing these labels ON the books! I've been interested in labeling my individual books but it's hard to find pictures of the actual labels on the books- usually there are just pictures of the labels to download. I like your idea of putting the labels on the lower left-hand corner. Thanks for giving me the idea to print 2 labels on each sticker and cut them in half- I wanted smaller labels but couldn't figure out how to make it happen. I'm definitely going to use these great ideas in the upcoming school year!

  16. Lupita Simas says:

You did a wonderful job! This post seem extremely good.
