Classroom Library Labels & Chalkboard Theme!

After all the conferences and classes for my masters program (which are still ongoing!), I finally feel like this week is my first week of summer! Woo hoo!! I am so excited to have lots of time to work on my to-do list, catch up on blogging, and read some of the books that have been in a pile next to my bed!! Although I have been super busy this past week and haven’t been able to work on any crafty things for my classroom, I have been doing a little digital craftiness, which I am super excited about!!
I had made it my goal to update my library tags since the beginning of the year. Well, after trying out many different ideas, I finally came up with perfect labels for my classroom!
You can see some of the labels on my book baskets on top of the book shelves, and I have more baskets over on the side as well.
I ended up deciding on labels that are similar to my genre posters and figurative language posters! They fit the fun, colorful style of my classroom!
Here are just a few of the many labels I made!
Here are a couple of the labels that I put on as I was sorting through and organizing all my books towards the end of the year!
I had tried to attach the labels with velcro strips and hot glue gun, but for some reason they did not stick! I ended up getting these rings, which  fit perfectly through the holes in the basket. They keep the labels on nice and tight, and I no longer have to worry about them falling off!
The baskets I use are from Really Good Stuff, and they are great for both chapter books and larger books!

Another thought that has been on my mind since school got out, is what I want to do with my classroom next year. Of course, before the year was even over, I was thinking about what I wanted to update/switch around for next year.
One thing that I have been loving lately is chalkboards! I bought a mirror from Home Goods a few months ago, and painted it with chalkboard paint! It has been a wonderful addition to our living room! After seeing Farley’s adorable chalkboard summer bucket list my husband and I decided to make our own!

Which got me thinking… adding some chalkboard decor to the classroom would be kind’ve fun!
SO… I went back and updated some of my favorite items to be chalkboard themed! Including my new
Classroom Library Labels…

I plan on working on some more chalkboard things as well, but I’ve gotta get some of my crafty projects done too! I am determined to have something crafty done for next Monday Made It with Tara!

Go check out her blog to see all the neat projects that my favorite teacher bloggers have been working on! And I love how she modified my homework club!! It is adorable!

I just downloaded your behavior clip chart signs-thank you soooo much! I will probably purchase your alphabet and number signs, too. Would it be possible for you to make some chalkboard editable small signs? I have 3 sets of the rainbow drawers from Really Good Stuff that I am going to use for my weekly reading stuff, math sheets, etc. 馃檪
