I had been wanting to make something new for our classroom door for a while. I had this grand vision in my head for a positive affirmation classroom door and I am SO happy with how it turned out!!! I included some of my favorite daily affirmations that I want my students to believe about themselves!

Materials:
- Positive Affirmation Classroom Door – this product has the file that you will upload to a print site in order to get your banner printed!
- Command strips – I used command strips to hang my banner on my door. That way it’s easy to remove and doesn’t damage the door!
- A printing site to order your banner from. I used Staples, but you can use any service that prints 2′ by 6′ posters/banners!
- Gold paper fans
- Colorful paper fans
Positive affirmations with my students
In addition to seeing the positive affirmations anytime they enter or exit our classroom, we have also added the affirmations to our morning routine! After our morning meeting we will go through each of the affirmations. I will say each one (ex: “I am strong!”) and then my students will repeat it after me. I started doing daily affirmations with my daughter when she was three and I love seeing her self confidence every time we do them. I love doing them with my students now as well!
Ordering process
These are the steps I took to order my banner! You can order it from anywhere that sells 2′ by 6′ banners, but I really like the quality of the one I ordered from Staples! The 2′ by 6′ banner size costs $38 plus tax!
Final steps for the positive affirmation classroom door
Make sure you measure your classroom door (or space you plan to put the banner) before printing! My door has a large kick plate, so I decided to cut off the top part of the banner where it says “REMEMBER” so that it would fit without going over the kick plate! I used these command strips to hang the banner up so that it wouldn’t ruin the paint on the door! This affirmation banner would also look great displayed anywhere in your classroom, so you aren’t limited to only hanging it on a door! Just measure your space out before you order!

Did I hear/read somewhere that you were going to post how you designed the poster? I thought you said something about using Canva. I’d love to know what you used.
Yes I created it in Canva!!! Powerpoint didn’t work because it wouldn’t let me create the file large enough so it wasn’t blurry when printed on a 2′ x 6′ poster!
Where did you find your quotes that are in the black frames?
I made them! You can get them here: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Inspirational-Classroom-Posters-2024140
Did you get a specific set of fans to match?
How do you attach the paper fans to wall?
Hi Danielle!
That wall is a tackable, bulletin board type of surface, so I could just use push pens to hang up the fans!
What fonts did you use in Canva?
Hi Molly, love this idea! A few days ago, I printed and stuck several affirmations on the mirror and the fridge 🙂 We all deserve to be reminded daily that we are enough and worthy of love and respect!
Positive Affirmation Classroom Door is always a great motivation for the students and you have amazing ideas with the innovations that teachers need. I like this amazing post with innovative ideas.
I saw someone had a bookmark that matched the door banner. Where can I find that?
